A September 13, 2011 AP story revealed that AllianceBernstein Holding said its assets under management declined by 5 percent in August from the month earlier period.

AllianceBernstein (AB) slashed its holdings in Office Depot, Inc. common stock. In February, 2011, it held about 12.2 percent of the company’s shares, earning it honors as the largest institutional shareholder.

Jameson Hotels moved one step closer to foreclosure as Colony Capital LLC purchased a large piece of the hotel chain’s debt. That debt was held by AllianceBernstein Holding LP (AB).
